Dear Friend,
I may know you or I may not. I may have the courage to talk to you about what I believe in but I may not have the opportunity, precision in expression or the heart to do it. Please spare me a few minutes to read and contemplate what I have written for you below. I pray you will contact me if you have been touched by God in any way.
I believe
that there is only one true, living God. He is holy, ever-present, all-knowing, almighty.
In the beginning, God created everything. All of earth, the heavens, everything.
He also created the first man and woman. Subsequently, we were supposed to enjoy great fellowhip and communion with God, along with all of his amazing creation. We were supposed to be zookeepers and botanists and most importantly, companions of God.
But the first man and woman ate a banned fruit, of all permissible things, thanks to the fallen angel satan. Thus we disobeyed God in a prideful moment and have regretted since.
Until today, our relationship with God is broken. We wander through life searching for the meaning of our existence. We deny there is the need for God but we cannot seem to have things our way, at least not after death. Eventually, we lose all certainty along with our way. We die and go into eternal suffering because we are longer able to commune with God, to enjoy His presence.
We are forever stuck with our pride and the sin that comes with it. For as long as we depend on ourselves, we are preventing ourselves from being close to God.
Thankfully, despite our adultery, God loves us and wants us to go back to Him. He is full of mercy and always forgiving but since the price to pay for sin is death, He decided to take our place so that we can be free.
God sent His son, Jesus Christ to earth as a man so that He could take our place as a perfect human to die. He died for every one of us, in arguably the most painful way ever – to be hung on the cross. He died, like anyone of us will, but the amazing thing is that He resurrected on the third day. He, the master and giver of life, conquered death forever on our behalf.
The blood sacrifice by Jesus washed away all our sins and if we believe that to be so, we are able to enjoy full companionship with God again!
Since the day I accepted Christ as my personal saviour, I enjoy a new life, nothing like the one before. Sure, I struggle with disobedience and pride all the same, but I now have the Holy Spirit in me to guide me through life.
My perspectives on life and everything in life has changed and shifted to include the certainty of eternity and I want you to share this great blessing and inheritance with me. I am called to witness for Christ and if you want to invite Him into your life, please say the following words as a prayer to God:
Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
I come to you as a sinner. I have always wanted my way and disregarded your presence. I am sorry, please forgive me. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and I want to invite you into my life as a personal Lord and Saviour. From now on, I want to live for you.
In your name I pray,
Amen.
